Leaving In Style
Normally, when you’re released from federal prison, you get on the bus in a gray sweatsuit and a mesh bag hanging over your shoulder. We recently had someone ask – can you send your loved one some different clothes to wear when they’re released?
The answer is yes!
But, you can’t just randomly send a box of clothes to the prison address. The inmate must first go to the counselor and get the right form. He needs to mail that to you, and you need to fill it out. It will have you detail precisely what will be in the box – brand, color, quantity, etc.
With the form included in the box after all instructions have been carefully followed, you can then send the box of clothing to the prison. It will be held in R&D until your inmate is ready to leave.
