Federal Prison Tips’ Kyle Sandler sits down with Miami mainstay, hip hop artist and clothing designer City Streetz in this episode of The Yard Podcast.
In the rap and hip hop game there are a lot of people who try and set a narrative that the music saved them. That story is actually true for City Streetz a well known hip hop artist, clothing designer, philanthropist, mentor and community activist right from the streets of Miami. City Streetz discusses the days in county jail and the state prison system. So many people know them. Sitting in a cell by yourself or with a cellmate and writing, always writing, first for City it was journaling, then poetry and then he started rapping these poems. Streets talks about running into OG Gigavelli’s cell and rapping for him. Gigavelli challenged him to get out and do the damn thing and he did. City Streetz is now a well known and respected Miami artist with ties to all the big South Florida hip hop leaders. He’s also a mentor, clothier, philanthropist and community activist. He opens up about how music saved him and now it’s his calling to help others. This is the latest episode of The Yard Podcast.
