Bad To The Bone

Yes, that’s right. Superbowl Champion running back and kickoff returner Wendell Smallwood has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for stealing $645,000 in a PPP fraud scheme.

Smallwood was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles when they made it to the Superbowl in 2017, but apparently, his career in football wasn’t enough. He allegedly started stealing from the United States government using fraudulent PPP loan applications in 2020, in the midst of Covid.

For the total amount stolen, he was given an 18 month sentence. With First Step Act Credit, we can expect him to be released within nine months.

Are you facing legal consequences for PPP applications? We can probably help. Give us a call at: 407-434-0175.
