Conditions Are Terrible Everywhere – It’s A Problem

Whether your loved one is at McKean, Florence, FPC Montgomery, Pensacola, Thompson, Beaumont, or Morgantown, whichever federal prison it is, we know is the absolute worst.

As a company staffed by those who have been justice impacted, none of us discount for a second that your loved one is having a hard time in federal prison.

But, please understand – when we receive a report on the conditions or experiences of a particular prison, we have to vet these claims by three different sources before putting this information out.

Further, while calling out the conditions and experiences of prisons is among our goals when they result in a breach of human rights, sharing those objectively bad, but expected experiences is not what we’re about.

We’re about helping people navigate federal prison, getting through federal prison safely, and assisting with post-conviction issues, whether administrative or legal in nature.

But, there are two groups making a huge impact in advocating for inmates in federal prison when it comes to improving the day-to-day conditions.

These are the Loved Ones Coalition and the First Network. If you have poor living conditions to report, these are the first places to go.

We are fortunate that Federal Prison Tips has the largest Instagram and Tiktok audience in the federal prison space. That’s why, when we get videos of roaches in the food at Fort Dix or things crawling through the ceiling at Beaumont, of course we will publish that information.

But if we’re talking about air conditioning and general complaints, these stories are better suited for the Loved Ones Coalition and the First Network.

Also keep in mind, if we publish negative stories about the conditions of a prison, because of our size and notoriety, inmates at that facility will likely receive some kind of retaliation. Unfortunately, this is just the nature of the BOP and the prison system.
