These Forms May Help You Advocate For Your Inmate in Federal Prison
Separating from a loved one who is beginning their journey in federal prison can be very tough. What makes it even harder is it’s nearly impossible for a loved one on the street to advocate for someone behind the fence.
The Bureau of Prisons isn’t the easiest organization to navigate but having these forms from the BOP filled out on behalf of your inmate can make the entire process much easier. Although there’s no guarantee that even with the forms you’ll get anywhere, a famous cartoon once said “Knowing is half the battle”.
The first form is a release of information for community programming and the other form is a medical records release form. Finally you may want to do a power of attorney. We’ve provided a basic durable power of attorney below as well.
