Hint: It’s Rarely 100%

For many years, an inmate in federal prison had to do 85% of their sentence. For inmates who behaved, caught no shots or further charges, this applied across the board.

Since 2022 and the near-complete implementation of the First Step Act (FSA), that number can be as low as 52% in a prison for qualified inmates, not including that portion which will be served in a halfway house and/or home confinement.

For clients we service with our Gold Package, we guarantee that time frame.

Under the latest guidance issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, inmates are supposed to get their statutory maximum home confinement eligibility date. This date provides an inmate’s entire FSA benefit stacked with their Second Chance Act (SCA) benefit.

Again, the above is only provided that the inmate stays out of trouble and has a minimum or low recidivism score.
