Former CO Blows The Whistle & Gets Punished
Apparently Ms. Smith, the unit manager at Yazoo Federal Prison Low in Yazoo, Mississippi, isn’t the only corrupt staff member at the complex.
Former correctional officer Fred Chambliss from Yazoo, Mississippi, has gone to the FBI to report the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice for RICO.
This RICO filing from Fred Chambliss come after he was taken off duty and “worked from home” (taken off the schedule, but provided a paycheck for two years) before he was finally fired by the warden.
All of this was retaliation. Mr. Chambliss had been working there since 2012. He was eventually the vice president of the union.
He spoke out when he wasn’t getting overtime pay, which is rampant across the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Years later, when it never came after several promises, he sent several emails to the administration. This is when he was sent home, in clear violation of the Whistleblower Protection Act.
We’ve heard time and time again about retaliation against inmates, but here we see it happens to the guards themselves.
