Criminal Indictments Potentially Involve LeBron James
Recent reports have indicated that Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat Player Terry Rozier, and former NBA player Damon Jones have all been indicted in two separate indictments alleging crimes related to sports betting and an illegal poker game.
The two indictments report criminal activity spanning 11 states and 30 different people affiliated with the alleged crimes.
ESPN reports that these indictments have ties to four prominent New York crime families, including the Bonanno crime family, the Lucchese crime family, and the Gambino crime family.
The Atlantic is reporting that the indictment involving Damon Jones also involves LeBron James.
LeBron James was not indicted, but he’s been identified as player No. 3 in the indictment.
The indictment alleges that because of Jones’s relationship with LeBron James, he was able to ascertain information that he would sell to sports betters.
One example included a game that LeBron James would not be playing in, and although he didn’t appear on the injured reserve list, he didn’t play in that game, netting gamblers with that information substantial gains.
The other indictment involves sophisticated underground poker games
