Before I went to Federal Prison in 2018 I had no idea that prison consultants were a thing. In fact the only one I had heard of at that time was RDAP Dan because a couple people I was in the county jail with were using him. Personally, I had so many questions and was getting answers all over the place from so many different people. My wife at the time and my mother had taken to Facebook to get answers for my questions and all of the answers were different. None of them really made any sense.

Federal Prison Consultants help those facing prison and their loved ones by answering experience based questions, helping people prepare for prison and referring them to other resources that could help them further, like attorneys.

Questions come in all shapes and sizes, it can be as small as “What can I bring when I self report?” to more important things like, “Will I be able to observe my religion”. Sometimes it’s not just about the questions either, it’s also about having someone available to pick up the phone who understands what is going on.

Prison consultants help those facing Federal prison plan for things like their pre-sentence investigation, which leads to the pre-sentencing report or PSR. We also help with sentencing memorandums and letters to the judge.

Prison consultants can help develop plans to maximize inmate benefits via things like the First Step Act and much more.

Here at FTP we prefer to remain accessible to our justice impacted clients through thier in prison time and once they’ve reached the halfway house and home confinement.
