Kyle Sits Down With Scott Storch On The Yard

This was a bucket list interview for Federal Prison Tips founder and The Yard Podcast host Kyle Sandler who most people know has been a dj since he was 10 years old. It was some of the music Scott Storch produced in the latter part of the 90’s and early 2000s that Sandler played on the radio and in the clubs. Scott Storch found his calling in music. After a few piano lessons he taught himself how to play and after his parents split up he headed to Philadelphia to chase that dream and boy did he chase it. His roots were litereally with The Roots the Philadelphia super group that has been the house band for the Tonight Show and most recently for the Roast of Kevin Hart. Storch talks about playing with The Roots and then renting studio space not much bigger than a closet at one of the. most well known studios in Philly. After that he was playing an open mic in Los Angeles where he bumped into a good friend, who the world knows as Eve. She had signed with Aftermath and introduced Storch to Dr. Dre. That iconic piano riff from Still DRE started off as an accident, something Storch was just playing as Dre was running out to get some food, as he tells it Dre did an about face, laid in the rest of the track and now millions and millions of plays later everyone from every age group recognizes that riff. Storch talks about how he doesnt just make beats and shops them, he tries to make stars, and that he’s done starting with Chris Brown and Run it and today even working with Roddy Rich, 6×9, Bebe Rexha and so many more. Storch opens up about the fall he had after his epic rise to fame in the early part of the 2000s but music brought him up and music saved him. He has some great advice for people follwing his footsteps too, stay in the studio and don’t get distracted. That’s exactly what he did for this interview summoning the Yard crew to his Boca Raton studio for this amazing interview. Super Producer Scott Storch is on the Yard!
